Kitesurf trick
Jump Grab
- Jump
- Grab
Adding a grab to your basic jump. The first step into style, and the base for every named grab such as tail, nose and indy.
How to
Jump with height
Send the kite to 12 o'clock and pop off your edge so you have time in the air.
Tuck your knees
Pull your knees up at the peak so the board comes close to you.
Grab with one hand
Let go with one hand and grab the edge, nose or tail, keeping the other hand in the middle of the bar.
Release at the peak
Let go and put both hands back on the bar as you start to drop.
Land downwind
Send the kite forward and land with the board pointing downwind.
Common mistakes
Reaching instead of tucking
Bring the board to your hand by pulling your knees up.
Kite drifting during the grab
Hold the bar in the middle with your remaining hand so the kite stays at 12.
Holding the grab too long
Release at the peak so both hands are ready for landing.
