Kitesurf trick

Mute Grab

Beginner
  • Grab

A jump where your front hand grabs the toeside edge between your feet. It is a natural next grab after your first jump grab, and the front hand mirror of the indy.

How to

  1. Jump with control

Send a comfortable jump with the kite near 12 o'clock and the bar in your back hand.

  2. Tuck your knees

Pull your knees up high so the board comes to your hand instead of reaching down for it.

  3. Grab the toe edge

Reach your front hand down in front of your front leg and grab the toeside edge between your feet.

  4. Release and land

Let go as you start to drop, return both hands to the bar and land heading downwind.

Common mistakes

  • Reaching for the board

Lift your knees higher so the grab comes to you without bending at the waist.

  • Holding on too long

Release once you feel the jump peak so you have time to set the landing.
