Kitesurf trick
Nose Grab
- Grab
A grab where your front hand takes the nose of the board in the air. It is a stylish next step once your first jump grabs feel easy.
How to
Jump with steady height
Send the kite to 12 o'clock for a controlled jump with your back hand on the bar.
Bring the nose up
Pull your front knee to your chest and partly straighten your back leg so the nose tweaks up towards your hand.
Grab the nose
Let go with your front hand, reach down and hold the nose of the board while your back hand keeps the bar centred.
Release early
Let go of the nose as you start to drop and put your front hand back on the bar.
Land downwind
Extend your legs and touch down on the tail with the board pointing slightly downwind.
Common mistakes
Reaching for the board
Bring the nose up to your hand with your knees instead of bending down to it.
Pulling the bar in
Keep your back hand at the centre of the bar so the kite does not steer or oversheet.
Holding too long
Release the grab while you are still above the water.
