Who we are

TrickTrack makes the TrickTrack Kitesurfing app (“the app”) and the tricktrack.co website (“the site”). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: hello@tricktrack.co.

The short version

  • No account is needed to use the app. Without one, your logbook never leaves your phone.
  • No ads, no advertising identifiers, no tracking. The app has no analytics; the site counts visits without cookies or identifiers.
  • We never sell or rent your data.

What stays on your phone

Your logbook (the tricks you log, each session's mastery rating, notes, photos and videos, the tricks you mark mastered) is stored on your phone. Photos and videos are compressed before saving. Nothing of it is sent to us unless you choose TrickTrack Pro. To show the trick catalogue, the app downloads it from our server.

Your account (optional)

An account is optional; you need one for TrickTrack Pro. You create it with an email address and a password. We keep your email address to identify you, sign you in, and restore your purchases and backup. Your profile (username, bio and profile picture) is public: other riders can see it, so only put there what you're happy to share.

Backups with TrickTrack Pro

With Pro, your logbook, photos and videos are copied to our server and linked to your account, so they can be restored on a new phone. They are private to you: we don't publish them or show them to other riders.

Legal basis: performance of the contract you enter by subscribing. They are kept while your account exists.

Subscriptions

Pro is bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, which handle payment under their own privacy policies. We never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active and to restore it; it receives your purchase history, your account identifier and your email address. It doesn't receive your logbook.

Tricks you add

When you add a trick that's missing from the catalogue, its name and description are sent to us for review. Once accepted, the trick joins the public catalogue for every rider.

Crash reports

When the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a technical report to Sentry, in the EU (device model, OS and app version, and what went wrong), so we can fix it. Reports carry no IP address and no user identity. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in an app that works.

The website

The site sets no cookies. To know which pages are read, we count visits with a cookieless audience measurement tool: it records the page, the referring site, the browser and device type, and the country, with no cookie and no identifier, and doesn't store your IP address, so a visitor can't be recognised from one visit to the next. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used. Our host keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security, for a short time.

Processors and transfers

  • Railway (hosts our server and this site), Sentry (crash reports, EU), RevenueCat (subscription status), and Apple and Google for store purchases. They process data on our behalf only; we don't share it with anyone else.

Some of them are in the United States. These transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent at any time, by writing to hello@tricktrack.co. You can delete your account and backups yourself in the app (Your profile › Delete my account), or ask us by email; we act on requests within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Children

The app and site are not meant for children under 15, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date above. For important changes, we tell account holders in the app or by email.
