Kitesurf trick
Pop to Toeside
- Jump
- Rotation
A pop where you turn the board half a turn in the air and land riding toeside. It joins your pop and toeside riding and opens up toeside landings for later tricks.
How to
Keep the kite low
Ride heelside with both hands on the bar and the kite at 11 or 1 o'clock, not higher.
Carve and stamp
Carve upwind with your weight over the back foot, then stamp hard by extending your back leg explosively.
Turn to toeside
As the board leaves the water, turn your shoulders and hips upwind so the board twists half a turn under you.
Land tail first
Touch down tail first with your hips over your new back foot, then bend that leg and drive onto your toes.
Ride away toeside
Pull the bar in slightly and carve onto your toe edge to put tension back in the lines.
Common mistakes
Board sliding round
Keep your front leg longer so your weight stays on the tail and the board pops instead of sliding.
Falling forward
Bring your hips over your back foot while you are in the air.
No power after landing
Carve onto your toe edge straight away so the lines load up again.
Builds on
Unlocks
