Kitesurf trick

Double Frontroll

Advanced
  • Jump
  • Rotation

Two frontrolls in a single jump. It needs height and quick rotation, and it is a big step once your single frontroll is consistent.

How to

  1. Edge and send

Ride with speed, kite at 11 or 1 o'clock, then edge hard and send the kite up above you quickly as you pop.

  2. Throw hard

Stamp off your back foot and throw your head down toward the nose, looking back over your back shoulder with full commitment.

  3. Keep the bar in

Hold the bar in and your knees up through both rotations, and build it up in steady, moderate wind.

  4. Lead with your head

At the top, with the kite just behind 12 o'clock, keep your head turning toward the landing for the second rotation.

  5. Dive to finish

As the nose comes through the wind, dive the kite hard with your front hand and land heading downwind.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the bar out

Keep the bar in through both rotations so the kite keeps lifting you.

  • Too little float

Send the kite up above you sharply so it keeps pulling you up through the second rotation.

  • Opening up too soon

Stay tucked until the second rotation is complete.
