Upside Down Boardoff Double Frontroll

Advanced
  • Jump
  • Grab
  • Rotation
  • Board-off
  • Inverted

A double frontroll where you take your feet out at the top, hold the board while you go upside down in the first rotation and get your feet back in before landing. One of the hardest board-off combinations.

How to

  1. Take off with power

Approach fast on a solid edge with the kite at 11 or 1 o'clock and pop hard for height, only over deep water in steady wind.

  2. Feet out at the top

As you reach the top, grab the edge of the board with your back hand and slide both feet out of the straps.

  3. Get inverted

Start the frontroll and stretch your legs away from the board as you go upside down, holding it close with your hand.

  4. Feet back in

Bring your knees in and slide your feet back into the straps as you come out of the inverted part, then keep the second rotation going.

  5. Spot your landing

Look for the water, steer the kite forward and dive it to land heading downwind.

Common mistakes

  • Straps too tight

Loosen your straps beforehand so your feet slide out quickly at the top.

  • Second rotation dying

Commit with your head over your back shoulder and keep redirecting the kite.

  • No time to reconnect

Get your feet back in right after the inverted moment so you have the second rotation to settle.
