Kitesurf trick
Toeside Pop to Blind
- Rotation
A pop from toeside riding that turns you to land blind, back to the kite. A logical step after your heelside pop to blind, and it needs very little height.
How to
Approach toeside
Ride toeside with the kite at 11 or 1 o'clock and release your front hand so your chest and hips face forward.
Relax, then carve
Ease off the edge, then carve back onto it with weight on both feet and ankles flexed, drifting the kite up a little.
Pop with both legs
Extend your front leg first and your back leg straight after to stamp off the water.
Turn toward heelside
As you leave the water, bring your free hand back to the bar to turn your shoulders and hips through heelside to blind.
Land blind
Push the bar out, land slightly new tail first and stay upright over the board.
Common mistakes
Too much pop
Keep it low, the turn matters more than the height.
Stuffing the nose in
Keep your back leg up as you come round and land slightly new tail first, upright over the board.
Bar pulled in
Push the bar out as you land to dump power.
