Kitesurf trick
Tic Tac
- Jump
- Board-off
A boardoff where you hold the board by the tail and spin it a full turn around in your hand before your feet go back in. A good step up once your boardoffs are reliable.
How to
Jump with height
Send the kite to 12 o'clock for a big, controlled jump, and start on a kite you know well in moderate wind.
Bend and grab the tail
At the top, bend your knees, grab the tail with your back hand and slide both feet out.
Start the spin
Let the board hang below your hand and flick it into a full turn while your front hand keeps the bar in and level.
Catch the board
Catch the tail again as the board comes round, keeping it close to your body.
Feet back in
Twist the board flat under you, slide your feet into the straps and land with the board pointing slightly downwind.
Common mistakes
Not enough height
Jump higher so you have time for the spin and the catch.
Spinning too hard
Flick the board smoothly so it comes back to your hand instead of away from it.
Feet back in too late
Get the board back on before you start to drop.
Builds on
Unlocks
