Kitesurf trick
Jesus Walk
- Board-off
Taking the board off at the top of a low, floaty jump and running across the water before putting it back on. It depends on hang time and precise power control rather than height.
How to
Set up for float
Ride with lots of speed on a well powered, floaty kite, straps loose, with solid kiteloops and boardoffs behind you.
Send to 12 and pop
Move the kite quickly to 12 o'clock and pop as it takes your weight.
Pull the board off
Pull the board off your feet with your front hand and hold it by your side.
Run on the water
Run across the surface and manage height with the bar, pulling in to rise and easing out to drop.
Loop and board back
As you slow, pull the back hand to loop the kite, which gives you a moment to put the board back on and ride away.
Common mistakes
Sending too high
Keep the kite moving fast to 12 without sending it back, so you float low over the water.
Feet stuck in the straps
Loosen your straps before you try so the board comes off easily.
Walking instead of running
Keep your feet moving fast so they skim instead of sinking.
